Case Study: Marine Life Conservation
Introduction to a case of technical exploration by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to support the recovery of the North Atlantic right whale population.
One of the proposed solutions to save the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale is to develop a buoy-free fishing gear location technology. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has requested our company to identify new solutions for buoy-free underwater object location. To make this project feasible, it was necessary to identify and track the location of underwater objects (such as fishing gear) that may move from the initial deployment site using a low-cost system, allowing users to detect their location. The system is required to be rope-free, meaning that it cannot indicate location using buoys or floating ropes. A key outcome from this technology scouting project was related to acoustic devices. Our team identified numerous acoustic device solutions, which became strong candidates for the final solution. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.*
